Eklingji Temple,Nathdwara

The Eklingji is a religious complex located in Northern region of Mewar(22km). This temple was constructed roughly in between the Uda–Nath route with the hills towering takes a break.Eklingnath Temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva of the Hindu religion. Eklingji was built by Bappa Rawal in 734 A.D.At the same time Eklingji was ruled by Mewar rulers. In the later years, it was repaired and reconstructed by various Kings. Eklingji Temple’s magnificent architecture is simply remarkable. The temple has double-storied building which looks awesome with its pyramidal style of roof and distinctly carved tower.

The outer walls of this temple are stretched with steps that descend through touching the serene waters.Inside the complex of the main temple is a huge pillared hall called the 'mandap' that is sheltered by hefty pyramidal roof and in this hall devotees are welcomed by a silver image of Nandi. In this temple there are two images of Nandi carved in black stone and brass. The temple is filled with beautiful fragrance.The temple has the most striking four-faced idol of Eklingji. The east-facing part is recognized as Surya, the west-facing part is Lord Brahma, the north-facing part is Lord Vishnu and the south-facing part is Rudra. The zenith of the multifaceted idol is known as 'Yantra that stands for the ultimate reality. The Shivlinga is covered by a silver snake.This Shivalinga is in the middle of the temple which is encircled by Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikaya.

The statues of Goddess Saraswati and Yamuna are also available in the temple. Eklingji is one of the most famous temple in Rajasthan.
The timing of Eklingi Temple for the Darshan of Lord Shiva is in the morning from 04:15 A.M. - 06:45 A.M., then later from 10:30 A.M. - 01:30 P.M., and in the evening from 05:15 P.M. - 07:45 P.M.
